For the first time in six years, you can catch Roni Size DJing in NYC! This Thursday he’ll be at LOVE with Dynamite MC on the mic. The pioneer of Drum ‘n’ Bass has been DJing all over Europe and will only make 3 stops in the U.S – May 6th at Love in NYC, May 7th at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and May 8th at El Tunel de Guajataca in Puerto Rico – before heading back. This is a very rare opportunity to see drum ‘n’ bass royalty, so be sure to catch this legend before the UK grabs him back!
Roni Size has been enjoying the spotlight recently thanks to his contribution to Banksy’s new film Exit Through The Gift Shop. Mr. Size provided several exclusive songs for the film which has been receiving massive critical acclaim. He also earned accolades in the UK this past fall when he collaborated with the BBC’s Nature’s Great Events composer, William Goodchild for a landmark Reprazent gig with an Orchestra and Choir to mark the re-opening of Bristol’s Colston Hall. The night was rightly dubbed as the “show that we’ll be talking about for years to come.”
All of this comes on the heels of the release last year’s US release of New Forms 2, a re-edit that celebrates the anniversary of Roni Size & Reprazent’s 1997 Mercury Music Prize winning and groundbreaking album New Forms. It became available domestically for the first time via Universal Records and featured several new tracks including the incredible single “Don’t Hold Back,” which manages to not only sound like a perfect bedfellow for the original thirteen tracks on New Forms but is also thoroughly contemporary.
Cut to May 2010 and Roni Size is returning the US again – first stop NYC! Currently in the studio producing the next Roni Size album, whilst also working with the band on a new Reprazent album, he’s taken a little time out of his hectic studio schedule to do some dates.
