Made Event Brings UK Wonder James Holden to NYC’s Cielo Thursday, July 8th

Posted on 07 July 2010

British trance, progressive house and electronica/techno producer, James Holden has booked a coveted Thursday spot at Cielo Thursday, July 8th, 2010 to celebrate the release of his edition of DJ-KiCKS. DJ KiCKS is a compilation mix album from indie label !K7 Records. Holden has previously mixed Balance: 005 to much aplomb, so DJ-KiCKS great things are to be expected from his most recent collaboration.

True electronic dance music followers recognize Holden for tracks such as: “Come To Me” (with vocals by Julie Thompson), Britney Spears’ “Breathe on Me (Holden Vocal Mix),” Kirsty Hawkshaw singing “Fine Day (James Holden Remix),” Madonna’s “Get Together (James Holden Mix),” and Watergate’s anthem, “Heart of Asia (James Holden Remix).”

All in all, he may be testing the waters this side of the pond, but James Holden is bound for a warm reception. The Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, UK-native knows his stuff; he studied mathematics at Oxford University  before driving off on a musically creative course and eventually forming his own label, Border Community. In 1999, at a tender 19 years old, Holden marched onto UK dance floors with his hit “Horizons.”  Since, then, Holden’s unique blend of progressive electronic tunes, symphonic house, and psychedelic trance has earned him dance music fans around the world.

For DJ-KiCKS, Holden presents an eclectic and minimal mix, which includes his first single in four years “Triangle Folds.”

Celebrate Holden’s release of DJ-KiCKS at Cielo (18 Little West 12th Street
New York City), Thursday, July 8th, 2010. Doors at 10pm, 21+ with valid state issued photo ID.
