After a successful launch, headlined by Timo Maas, the Saturday night dance event, Dance.Here.Too, a party, promoted by Rob Fernandez and Benny Soto (of Thursday’s Dance.Here.Now fame,) is roaring to go. “We realized that Saturday had fallen off the menu for a lot of people and that’s just a waste of a night off,” commented Fernandez.

Well this week (December 12, 2009) consider making Saturday night the main course as DHT brings British sensation, Danny Howells to the downtown dance den, Santos Party House (96 Lafayette St., New York City.)

With over 18 years of touring top venues around the globe, Howells knows how to get the party started and keep the fire burning full blast. The DJ/Producer scored his biggest charting single with Dick Trevor on the floor-filler, “Dusk ‘till Dawn,” featuring Erire, from the album Miami. Howells has remixed crème de la crème artists ranging from Madonna, Deep Dish, Eminem, Destiny’s Child, BT, and David Morales—in addition to having mixed for sacred label, Global Underground. He has also breached DJ Magazine’s “Top 100 DJ list” nine times and most recently contributed to Renaissance’s celebrated Mix Collection in September 2008.

In 2010, he anticipates the launch of his label, Dig Deeper, and his first release under it, “September,” due out in February. As a DJ, Howells’ eclectic musical penchant for styles ranging from jazz to soul, rock and pop—will surely play well with the DHT scene at Santos. When you hit the dance floor with Howells at the controls, expect to move!

“We’re taking back Saturday night,” exclaims Soto. “[It is] a coming together of people that love music in a big way.” Indeed, and the musical talent runs the gamut at DHT—from Euro house to tribal groove and electro-rock. Judging by the recent sensation of the party-event, upcoming acts including François K and San Francisco-star, Behrouz, are bound to be to be worthwhile.
