It’s been a while. Now that we’re fresh from holiday and spring-cleaning, we’re ready to party. Thankfully, it’s Behrouz’s birthday this week, and to celebrate, he’ll be jetting back to New York City’s Cielo (18 Little w 12th St, New York) for another dynamic set, on Thursday, April 29th. This is a Dance.Here.Now. affair, presented by Robpromotions and Benny Soto, so expect full-on revelry. Doors open at 11pm, and festivities kick off with special guest, Nicolas Matar. Matar’s farther was a regular DJ at Studio 54, so the dance fever is in his blood. His spicy deep house and soulful electro have graced premier venues in Europe, North America and Asia. He scored a residency at Pacha Ibiza and most importantly, is Cielo’s co-owner and resident DJ (as well as a key player in its success).
Behrouz will then eventually take the stage and tear down the house with his signature deep house, electro tribal, and progressive beats. Currently following a busy tour schedule that has him dancing around North America; after his birthday fun, he’ll trek of to Vancouver and then back East, to wake up Boston at Underbar. We hope he elects to sample a few of the tracks we’re most addicted to at his B-Day shindig, namely: “Free your Mind,” “Sousse,” “Feeling Good,” and especially “Where Are You Now?”
We at MST tried to estimate Behrouz’s age; he’s definitely got the talent and savoir-faire to make a night simmer ‘til late—which only comes with experience and age… but his vigorous energy during a set implies youth (he doesn’t stop until the plug is pulled, literally!). However, we realized that when you’re that good at getting the party pulsating—age doesn’t matter…
